Taco Racers is a play-to-earn NFT and skill-based racing experience on the WAX blockchain. Within Tuning Mode players use a vehicle NFT to represent them in races competing for a race prize pool. Taco Racers tune their vehicle's specifications prior to each race.
Race tracks have set tuning for each race season. (At the end of each tuning times, all track properties will be revealed and be public knowledge via discord) Racers modify their car's specifications to tune their vehicle for the best track time. Prior to the race, the weather forecast will be displayed. The user chooses their tires, fuel type before entering the race queue.
Once in the race queue, users race against the next racers in the queue. Once the queue for that race has been filled (5 racers) the race commences and you’ll be able to see your results. You will place 1st - 5th based on the specifications that you’ve chosen prior to each race.

💡 We want to highlight the fact that Taco Racers is completely a skill-based NFT game. The rarity of your vehicle plays a role however your skill of tuning and selecting the correct tires, fuel before each race makes Taco Racers a truly unique skill-based game.
With Parts now operational, upgrading your parts plays a vital role within your racing journey! Not only within tuning mode, but Adventure Mode as well. It’s important to note that you can only acquire new parts within Tuning Mode for the foreseeable future.

We have unique relationship with Taco and it’s vastly growing **Taco Universe.** Because we are not creating and maintaining our own Tokenomics on the WAX Blockchain being highly involved within the Taco Universe is key. (See our Tokenomics section for more details on TACO and SHING tokens.)
TACO and SHING tokens are our primary and only source, at this time, of tokens used to play Taco Racers. SHING can be obtained from Taco Extractors and Taco Venues at any time, there’s no claiming cooldown besides your WAX account CPU. You can then use this SHING to enter our SHING Racing League.
TACO Tokens can be obtained in many different ways. TACO can be claimed for free on an hourly bases from the Taco App. You can also use the Taco App to swap tokens and you will get a TACO reward for swapping. Other ways to earn TACO Token, which is the primary Token used to race within Taco Racers, include, but not limited to, Liquidity Pool Rewards, Taco Tuesday and Trading Taco ingredients, which are NFTs that can be crafted using SHING inside of a Taco Venue and can be exchanged inside the Taco App for TACO Tokens. Visit TACO Token within Taco’s whitepaper to learn more. You can then use this TACO to enter our TACO Racing Leagues.
Using these Tokens obtained within the Taco Universe you can then play to earn even more SHING or TACO, depending on the league you select to race in.
You can visit our shop at by using the in-game menu. NFTs are for sale only in TRC. Items will periodically be added to the store in limited quantities like rare parts, packs and vehicles.
Taco Racers Coin or TRC is a digital token or cryptocurrency minted on the WAX Blockchain.
Tokens can be exchanged for NFTs, unlocking and purchasing upgrades, and the driving force of our game as the main objective is for you to play to earn!

You can earn TRC in multiple ways. Racing is the first way. For now, while we continue to balance our game playing earn 1 TRC for coming in either 1st, 2nd or 3rd Place during each race. 4th Place earns 2 TRC and 5th place earns 3 TRC after each race.
The second method is to earn TRC from leveling rewards. Claimable Leveling Rewards offers TRC at each new level that you achieve while racing.
We introduced levels and rewards during our Beta 2.0 Launch on July 1st, 2022. Racers earn 1 EXP point per race regardless of position, these points determine your Level within each season and each Level earned has new claimable rewards, see below.
Leaderboard Points are Separate from Individual Experience (EXP) Points. Currently while racing you earn the following points that effect the Leaderboard ONLY to determine end of season leaderboard prizes.
1st Place = 1 Points | 2nd Place = 1 Points | 3rd-5th Place = 1 Point
Leaderboard will show total points and the total amount of 1st, 2nd & 3rd Place Finishes each racer has had along with Total Points.
Currently Levels will reset after each season. Season lengths will be announced via our Discord, currently we have plans of 3-4 Weeks per each season. Below you can see Points Per Level and Rewards that are claimable at each level for the current season.
Season 5 - Points Per Level & Claimable Rewards Per Level
Equipping parts at your mechanic is an important part of the racing journey. There are five different parts that can be equipped - Engine, Transmission, Suspension, Frame and Computer. Each Part has a different rarity and with that rarity has a different HP Boost given to your vehicle for each part equipped.
There are also two “types” of parts as well, normal rarities Common - Concept, but there are also unique parts within these rarities that when blended together form a unique vehicle.
Example of this is Concept Engine A51.

💡 It’s important to note that because our game is exclusively PvP based earning system that balance is highly important to us, and with balance comes proper balancing changes to improve overall gameplay for our game. With this being said balance changes will occur in time and those balance reports will be revealed within the balance changes portion of our whitepaper and announced within our discord.

There are 10 rarities of vehicle NFTs, they vary by their starting Horsepower (HP).
To race users need a minimum of 1 vehicle NFT in their connected wallet in order to race.

Understanding Horsepower is essential in Taco Racers. How fast your vehicle determines the outcome of each race. Your Vehicle NFTs have a starting base horsepower, but tuning tires, fuel, and Weather directly impact your overall horsepower, which affects your overall race performance.

💡 See below for examples and more details.

HP Upgrade Tokens are NFTs used to blend with a Vehicle NFT to increase the overall Horsepower (HP) by 1. (e.g. Founder’s NFT Twin Turbo’s Base horsepower is 105HP. Upon blending with an HP Upgrade Token the new HP for that NFT is now 106HP.

💡 It’s important to note that HP Upgrade Token’s can only be used once every 21 days per Vehicle NFT. With a Max HP of 115 HP (Currently)

Current HP Upgrade Token Drop Rates:
SHING League - 0.01% Chance - 10000 races on average for one user TACO League - 0.1% Chance - 1000 races on average for one user
Gives HP Upgrade Token NFT value at around 1000 TACO
Vehicle Tuning can be adjusted after you’ve selected your league and the track you wish to race on. You can assign a value from 0 - 30 for each specification setting. All vehicles have the same setting types: Down Force, Suspension, Brake Force, Intercooler Pressure.

💡 Simplistic Tuning Explained: It’s important to note that while the definitions below are a key guide to the tune settings our game is simulated in it’s current state. Tune settings are like a math problem you’re attempting to solve. The league and track your racing in has perfect tune settings, and the skill involved is attempted to get as close as a perfect tune as possible to beat the competition.
NOTE: Weather does NOT affect tuning in our current state. Weather if only for you to decide which tires and fuel to select (which affect overall HP)

Downforce is a downwards force created by the aerodynamic features of a vehicle. Adjusting this tune setting allows for more vertical force on your tires creating more grip on the track.
Suspension helps your vehicle drive safe and smooth by absorbing the energy from various road bumps, debris or other kinetic impacts while driving. Adjusting this setting allows your tires to stay in contact with the track by increasing your tire’s friction.
Break force is the system that optimizes braking efficiency across all vehicle driving conditions. Adjusting this tuning setting allows your vehicle to sense and control the amount of braking applied during turns.
